World Heritage sites in Sweden

All countries have important places, areas and other memorable objects. Some of them are so important that they are a concern for all of humankind.

In 1972 Unesco, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, adopted a Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage.

By 2008, more than 850 sites have been inscribed on the World Heritage List. Fourteen of them are in Sweden.
