Meals and drinks

Let the chefs at Geschwornergården take you on a taste adventure. At Gjuthuset Café you can enjoy home-baked buns and biscuits with your coffee, and soups and richly filled sandwiches. There are several different shops in the area ready for you to explore.

Geschwornergården

Welcome to Geschwornergården, a restaurant to add delicious taste to your World Heritage site visit. The Kokkonsten restaurateur running Geschwornergården has chosen the onion as a symbol in their logotype, for the simple reason that even an everyday common onion is made to shine. From rich-tasting, fresh, raw products Kokkonsten serves you with gourmet-class dishes, elegantly presented on warmed plates. You can choose from a menu of meat, fish and vegetarian main courses, soups and salad dishes. Sit in comfort on the decked veranda or in the stylishly designed dining room with old mine photographs on the walls. Read more about the menu, opening hours etc. Please click Kokkonsten

Gjuthuset Café & Butik

When you go inside this historic foundry building, Gjuthuset, you encounter old-fashioned interior design, hand-printed wallpaper and, in winter, a crackling fire in the stove.

You’re first struck by the aromas – everything is baked from fresh raw materials here at the café. You can choose between coffee-break snacks and lighter lunches of delicious sandwiches and soups.

In summer, there is outdoor seating with a view out over the Great Pit (Stora Stöten). Linked to the café there is a shop selling selected delicacies.
