A guided underground tour, an interactive museum where children can both look and touch, a unique historical setting, and tasty food – you’ll find all of this when you visit the heart of the Falun World Heritage Site: Falu Mine, this summer.

Opening hours

We are open every day throughout the summer, except on Midsummer’s Eve when we are closed. Our regular opening hours are 9:30 am – 5:30 pm.

Things to see and do at Falu Mine

There is plenty to experience in the mining area, for both children and adults. A guided underground tour takes about one hour, but if you want to explore the entire area, we recommend planning 3–4 hours for your visit.

The Falun World Heritage Site

Since 2001, Falun has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Falu Mine is at the very heart of this heritage area. In addition to the mine, the town of Falun and the surrounding historic mining district are also part of the World Heritage Site.
