Falu Mine welcomes visitors throughout the year. In winter and spring, many exciting things happen at the site. Visit us and discover 1,000 years of history at the mine area.
Opening hours
Until 1 May, we are closed on Mondays, and the Mine Museum is only open at weekends.
During school holidays, we have extended opening hours. This year we extend the periods for the winter and Easter holidays, as school holidays vary across Sweden. Scroll down to see our opening hours during spring school holidays.
We are also open on all public holidays during spring.

Tickets and prices
We offer guided underground tours every day we are open. When the museum is open, entrance to the Mine Museum is included in the underground tour, or you can choose to visit the Mine Museum only.

Important dates in winter and spring
3 February – 1 March Winter holiday opening
This year we extend our winter holiday opening and are open every day from Friday in week 7 to Sunday in week 9. You can join a guided underground tour and visit the Mine Museum.
3 April – 12 April Easter holiday opening
During the Easter holidays, we are open every day, including public holidays.
30 April Valborg (Walpurgis Night) at the mine
Every year, a traditional Valborg celebration is held at the mine. The event is organised by the Municipality of Falun. More information is available on their website.
1 May – 14 June Open every day
From 1 May, we begin the summer season and are open every day with guided underground tours and the Mine Museum, including public holidays.
