A short distance from Falun lies what is known as the “The Way of the Iron”. The sites of Vintjärn Mine, Svartnäs Ironworks, Åg Ironworks and Korså Ironworks tell the story of the iron industry connected to Falun Mine from the 18th century onwards.
Iron was essential for producing the iron products needed at Falun Mine, and Stora Kopparberget also held shares in the Vintjärn Mine. The chemical symbol for iron is Fe, which is why one of our meeting rooms is named Ferrum.
